System reboots
Hi.. One thing that comes to my mind from my experience with such multiple connections on the USB for various devices, is that, the bandwidth allocated by the CPU/Memory mgmt. in the computer for the USB port[s] is far exceeding the capacity and when this happens, the system is likely to reboot or m...

Multiple cameras in one computer.
Hi. Yes it is possible to have multiple webcams in one computer - each camera will go into one USB slot. And you will have to set upn one first and then copy the entire Yawcam directory and settings as another copy of the program and rename it suitably. There is a detailed step-by-step instructions ...

Motion detection controlled by motion percentage
Hi..
Thanks a million to let me get the idea of how the motion % is calculated by the system. This is certainly a valuable input to me to set my alerts fairly right.

Motion detection controlled by motion percentage
Nope. We are not able to specify this either directly or indirectly, now. We can only see what was the motion percentage of an event and from the window information, this does not appear to have any relation to the other two parameters - Sensitiviy & Tolerence being set. I don't understand how t...

Motion detection controlled by motion percentage
Hi.. While on this, I was thinking while we have the feature to control the detection by 'sensitivity' and 'tolerance' percentage to be set, why not have a 'motion' percentage as well. Basically, when we see the motion captured events in the Motion Detection window, a motion percentage as identified...

Same Camera Make/model
Hi.. I'm using Win XP in both the machines I have and Win XP prof. shows two diff. names [one appended with a #] like 64 bit machine. But YawCam when run on these machines, does not show the same name as in Device Manager. It shows without the # and number by which they become 2 identical entries. A...

Multiple camera program Xsplit.
Hi.. I downloaded and tried this program. It appears to be great but demands DotNet 2.0 installed and Direct X latest version installed for direct 3d. Finally it works well only on the Win 7 OS but not so on XP desktops. Not sure it expects high end config or what ? And it require logging into the X...

Viewing images in Android Phone
Hi.
Me too have the same problem when I tried to use TinyCam. Now viewing with the browser which does the job, anyway.
Let me also know, if Tinycam can be made to work by receiving streaming inputs from YawCam.

Issues with running as service - Issue closed.
Hi.. I found the solution myself. It is an interesting discovery that the Windows Firewall was not opened for YawCam and the ports which are used for streaming the video. As I could view the streaming with localhost:portno, but not from the network, after exploring so many things, I figured out it i...

Detecting Webcams
Thanks for considering the suggestion and I hope this is approved by Malun. As you can see more and more members talk about more than one camera. Of couse, same make/model could be very rare, although.

Detecting Webcams
Hi. This is a suggestion to make it easy & clear. When Yawcam detects the Cameras, why not use the camera name as the Windows Device manager shows in the 'imaging devices' list. This will be particularly useful, where the cameras are of same make/model. Windows append a no. each time a camera of...

Daylight focus
Hi.. Thanks for the responses. 1. I did not try an Infra-red cam which obviously is meant for seeing in dark and not for this purpose. 2. I tried setting the auto-exposure in the camera settings, which did not make any difference. Not sure why ? 3. Yes, I was thinking of photo-chromatic glass in fro...

HTTP not working when running as service.
Hi. I have the same problem - setup exactly same as this - identical to the one mentioned here. When I try with the http://localhost:portno it works fine. But if I try from another computer in the same network with the IP:portno it does not. But the interesting thing is, it works alright on my anoth...

Daylight focus
Hi.. I have a peculiar problem with the focus of my camera. While everthing works technically well, the camera I have positioned for surveillance of the main gate at my house, shows only complete white screen due to heavy sunlight. The same works fine in the day-end / late evenings. Even in the nigh...
