You are right. Yawcam cannot scan QR or EAN codes.
But I don't think many Yawcam users need a feature like that.
If you need to scan QR or EAN codes, you will probably have a better experience with a software dedicated for that.

Just to let you know... Yawcam version 0.8.0 has updated SSL ciphers and don't need the workaround described above.

Re: Setup PC Webcam with Synology Surveillance Station
Make sure that you don't activate password protection in Yawcam and see if that helps.

Re: "No device selected" for a while
That sounds like something different...
Anyhow, I've built a new beta version that don't trigger the motion detector at startup in my tests.
Please give it a try and see if it works better for you too.
Get it from here:

Re: Multiple copies of YawCam need Multiple copies of Java?
I'll post more info soon when the new version is closer to getting ready for a beta-release.
Hopefully some of you will help me test the new version and track down the initial bugs before a real release

Re: "No device selected" for a while
Do you get all get a "No device selected" picture? or do you get an actual image from the camera at startup? It's possible that this behavior have changed during the years... I'm not able to reproduce the problem with the "No device selected" picture, however I do get a single im...

Re: Multiple copies of YawCam need Multiple copies of Java?
With that said... As you pointed out, a contributing problem is also that this version of Yawcam don't support multiple devices. The overhead could be reduced if we don't have to run multiple instances at the same time. As a teaser, the next (unreleased) version of Yawcam dedicated for surveillance ...

Re: Multiple copies of YawCam need Multiple copies of Java?
7 GB of memory for a single instance of Yawcam sounds really much... What java distribution are you using? What image size are you using for the device? It is important to note that the memory usage will depend on the image size. In my tests a single instance for a camera with full HD (1920x1080) re...

Re: Stream only on localhost unless firewall disabled
Since Yawcam is a Java program, you will need to allow Java's executable in the firewall. The file will be named "javaw.exe" and is typically located here (if you are using Oracle's java distribution): C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath I you are using a different jav...

Re: Motion Events
The easiest way is to browse the files in the file explorer. The preview image from a motion event is located here: C:\Users\%username%\.yawcam\motion And the images and and videos from the action events depend on your action settings. More info about them here: https://www.yawcam.com/help/help_moti...

Re: ACCESS_VIOLATION crash when starting YawCam
Nice! We have pinpointed the problem :D ...and I can reproduce it on my machine. You might want to try this beta version: https://www.yawcam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13193 It should be more stable regarding the device selection when you plugin and unplug devices from your computer. Hopefully that w...

Re: ACCESS_VIOLATION crash when starting YawCam
On my machine, Yawcam will start fine with booth Elgato Camera Hub and OBS Studio installed. I can connect the Elgato Virtual Camera, but when I try to connect to the OBS Virtual Camera, Yawcam will crash. In theory, it could be that Yawcam has selected the OBS Virtual Camera and tries to connect to...
