Can't get to the machine was trying this on right now, but was running McAfee, so will try this

Problem though is not Thunderbird. It works fine. I put into Yawcam the same settings that work in Thunderbird and get nowhere.

I could guess some sort of firewall issue is not allowing Yawcam to communicate out.

Any other ideas?

for the same problem. The solution there did not help me, but may help you

Am using Thunderbird. Used the settings from Thunderbird for Yawcam (except now in caps) --
outgoing.verizon.net
port 25
checked password required
did not check SSL

Also tried smtpout.verizon.net, an alternative listed in one of the sites you provided. no difference

Changing to caps does not work for me. Have also added Yawcam to windows firewall exceptions. Still getting "Mail: Could not connect to SMTP host" errors every time Yawcam attempts to email on motion detection. Is getting Port 25 correct Any other suggestions? Did look at your site. I have...

Have enabled motion detection and set for file creation and email notification. The detection is working fine; I get file creation.
