Re: Yawcam becoming unresponsive overnight

Thanks for the log files! As you have noticed they look very similar to glires' logs in this thread: http://www.yawcam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4665 Interesting that you don't get the lock up when running with the device monitor disabled. My guess is though that you occasionally get either ...

Re: Yawcam #2 becomes unresponsive

There are no sign of any memory problems in glires' log file. But we can see that the camera stops delivering images at the end of the log. This should normally be handled by Yawcam. Yawcam has two mechanisms that tries to recover when the camera won't deliver images. One that waits for a new image ...

Re: Image Array Not Honoring the Number of Pics

Read the text in the settings one more time. It actually says: " Limit to X images / triggered event" So this means that as long as there is motion in front of the camera, images will be saved with the specified interval. But you have the option to limit the number of images saved and set ...

Re: Yawcam will not load. OS Win 10 cpu intel mem 8gig

The os.arch is not a problem in this case. Java will report amd64 when it is running in 64 bit even if it's on an Intel CPU. Something goes wrong when Yawcam is scanning your computer for connected audio and video devices. A specific device can sometimes make Yawcam crash like in your case. The best...

Re: SEtting Yawcam to a static IP

The easiest way is if the Yawcam user gets a DNS-updater. When the ip changes, they will still have consistent name that can be used to access the camera. Follow the dynamic ip guide: http://www.yawcam.com/help/noipguide.php It's a bit outdated in some parts, but you should be able to follow the ins...

Re: No video record in service mode

Hmm... actually you might have to change which user that is running the service. I didn't get the symlink-trick working until I did this. 1) Open the settings window for Windows services. You find it via the control panel, or just search for "services" in the start menu. 2) Find Yawcam's s...

Re: yawcam 5 loses track of yawcam_settings.xml

Strange! This is the first report of that something could be wrong with the new way of detecting and handling multiple instances of Yawcam. Could you please check the name of Yawcam's windows? Let's use the preview window as example. In the first instance of Yawcam the window will be named: "Ya...

Re: Slow FPS using JS outside firewall

I'm afraid I don't have any good ideas. You might be able to get IE to show a MJPEG stream if you use some ActiveX component. But I guess that would involve some security questions or settings in the viewer's browser before it could work :( The good thing is that the new browser (that eventually wil...

Re: No video record in service mode

I just want to double check:
In the image the symlink points to 192.168.0.110 and not to 192.168.0.33.
Where is your NAS located? Does it have dynamic or static IP address?

Re: Is there a way to save the video?

Yawcam can only save video on motion detection.
Not on predefined intervals.

Re: Windows 10 compatibility issue

The problem alfienoakes describes is not related to Windows 10, but rather the hi-def screen in his new laptop. You would get the same behavior in let's say Windows 7 if the screen had the same resolution. So, the issue is that java applications don't scale when Windows change DPI on hi-def screens....

Re: Yawcam #2 becomes unresponsive

Could perhaps be a memory problem, but it's hard to say...
You could run instance #2 in debug mode and see if that gives us any clues.

More info on how to run in debug mode here:

Re: Need help for using 3 cameras

It's probably because the USB controller can't handle the data load from 3 cameras at the same time.
Read more about that problem here:
