Re: Remote connection fail

I also had that problem, until talking to my ISP one day and found out they had to give me a static IP address in order for it to work. Something to do with their blocking system. Got a static and it works just fine.

Just a thought.

Re: Multiple Cameras

Use different ports for the second camera say 8082 and 8083 or whatever you choose as long as they are unique
I also use the netgear and have 3 cameras running. :D

Re: 3 instances of yawcam

Not sure how you would change cameras. but I stream on three different ports. EG xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8087, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8088, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8081

Then when offsite, I can select the camera I want.

Re: Looking for a camera recommendation

Right now, I have three wireless cameras that I am using: Edimax IC3030 This is a daylight only camera with no power tilt or pan. Works great if you can put it in a spot where you can reach it to make adjustments. Foscam FI8918W This one has night vision and power tilt and pan. Works great and have ...

Re: Camera shutter sound

I assume you mean when your doing motion detection? If so, Under Window, check the "motion detection" box and a subwindow will open. Click on the "Actions" tab and near the bottom of the right hand side is a check box for "Play Sound", un check it and you should have si...

Merlin, Yes, it is very doable, as I have done it! when I got my Foscam, the first thing I had to do was install their software so I could (using a hard wire connection) give it the right IP address to suit my system (I used a static IP address) and then you have to turn the wireless transmitter on ...

Open "Window", "Motion Detection", "Actions" and in about the middle, there is a box in the "Image Options" to "Add Overlay". Make sure it is checked.
Also, it is "funny" as I don't get the overlay in the preview window!

Works on mine, I have the time stamp info in the text area for "Text #1" and have the various colors set and it puts a time stamp at the top of my pictures.
Have it working on two different cameras.

I also had that problem and in accordance with my original thread on this problem: http://www.yawcam.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... highlight=

it appears to be a memory usage problem, In other words, if you start to hit the swap file, it will go blank.

In a way, glad to see I am not the only one having that problem. I was beginning to think it was me (and that would not be unusual!)
