Re: Record longer Motion Detection?
I'm sorry to hear your car got burglarized! The current version of Yawcam will only record video as long as there still is movement in front of the camera. There is no setting for longer recording. Sorry. I'm working on another version where it's possible to save video before and after an event occu...

Re: PTZ with Live Video
This depends on the drivers for the camera.
Some devices will freeze the video while adjusting these settings and some will not.

Re: Latest official release is newer than latest beta release
Sadly no big news to report. There is however a new beta version that was released after Yawcam 0.7.0. It contains a new "darkness filter" discussed here: https://www.yawcam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13000&p=22137 All beta versions can be found here: https://www.yawcam.com/beta...

Re: Java 8 update 333 with Windows 7
You can continue to use Yawcam with java 8, but I would recommend you to upgrade to a later java version.
There are some more info in this post:

(You can use a later version than java 8 on windows 7.)

Re: Feature request - File run-on after motion stops.
Blue-tits are pretty common here in Sweden too. I guess Hetzner has a reasonable prize for unlimited traffic. https://www.hetzner.com/webhosting However if you are using Yawcam in the standard way, the data will stream from the computer where you run Yawcam. This means that your Internet Service Pro...

Re: Feature request - File run-on after motion stops.
Nice birdbox camera! It's looking good! :D I downloaded and ran some "bird recognition" on one of your files, but the result is still too unreliable. Is Greyworld a setting for the raspberry pi camera? Your right, color compensation for IR lightning would be hard or impossible. There are s...

Re: Feature request - File run-on after motion stops.
Nice to hear! Everybody likes a nice birdbox camera, right? I have made tests with the new version of Yawcam to detect birds. But it turned out somewhat unreliable. I guess the result would be even worse from inside a birdbox. Anyhow, here's a preview from one time where the bird was detected fine: ...

Re: YawCam on my own server
You have two options if you want to publish/serve yawcam from you own server. Option #1 Use an IFRAME. It's the easiest option. Include a tag similar to this on your page: <iframe src='http://_Public_Address_:8081/index.html' style='border:none;' frameborder='0'></iframe> Option #2 Use a modified ve...

Re: outdated SSL ciphers
Yes, it looks like some email providers have decided to not support some older crypto ciphers that Yawcam still uses. So the ciphers needs to be updated in a new release of Yawcam. There is however a workaround: To manually replace/update the mail library used in Yawcam. Follow these steps for a fix...

Re: can't reach yawcam (by http) with service, no problem with GUI
Please make sure that Yawcam is allowed in the firewall.
When Yawcam runs with GUI it uses javaw.exe, but when it runs as a service it uses Yawcam_service.exe.
