Ok, the small fix is ready. All it does is to print out some error messages that were missed before. This might help me figure out what goes wrong. Download the fix here: http://www.yawcam.com/yawcam_print_ftp_error_fix.zip Install it just like an ordinary update. (See instructions here: http://www....

I just realized that this script only will work correct if you use the english version of Microsoft Windows. (Or a version with the same date format) But it is easy to modify so it fits your system. Here is a modified version that works with the swedish date format: system "dir *.jpg >xxx.txt&q...

Renaming files

I got a mail from Thomas Schrenk who has wrote a small and efficient script that renames files. This is useful when saving image arrays. His mail describes the problem area and shows the script: Hello Magnus, today I found Yawcam when looking for a software for tracking a corner in my house basement...

I'm sorry to hear that Yawcam doesn't work so well for you. As you say this can be a memory issue. Yawcam doesn't need so much diskspace (around 26 Mb) but it needs a lot of memory. I don't know exactly how much. (It depends on the settings in Yawcam) Try to reduce the image size and see if this mak...

Yes, it might be the username, but it shouldn't ;-) Right now I'm making a small fix that should print more error messages in the console when something goes wrong in the ftp upload. Perhaps this will help us figure out what goes wrong... I'll publish the fix here in the forum in a few days. Perhaps...

Yawcam apparently have problems to connect to your webcam.
I am not able to figure out why this happens. Sorry!
Thanks for your help and patience.

Are you behind a router? And have you selected "advanced" and forced an public address in the stream settings? If so, then you probably will have to use the internal address to your "yawcam computer" and add /local.html at the end when you try watch yourself. Example: If I run Ya...

I have heard some people say that this works for them (just like for you), but this definitely doesn't work for me. I don't know why. Maybe it's just my NAT-box that sucks. Anyway, I'll see if I can figure out something good to write in the FAQ about this... Thanx for your interest in Yawcam! /malun

What happens if you choose to detect the webcam from the menu (settings -> detect webcam) when the preview window is black? Does the image come back?

Hmm... Are you trying to watch your own webcam, or someone else's?
Are you using the signed or the ordinary applet?
Are you sure that you have enabled the Stream?

Thanx! By the debug print you sent me, it looks like you start Yawcam automatically hidden to the traybar. Are there any difference if you don't start in hidden mode at startup? When you get a black preview window... What happens if you close it, disable all output types, wait 6 seconds, and then op...

If you want to help, you can download a different startfile to Yawcam. When this start file is used a dos-prompt will appear when Yawcam runs. In this extra window some debug-info and exceptions will be printed. See if any exceptions are printed when Yawcam won't start. That info would be very usefu...

No, it is not possible to protect the webpages generated by Yawcam with password in the current version.
The solution would be to use a separate webserver like apache and use .htaccess files.
