email from/sender and subject fields bugs

Post by astrojr1 »

I can't get email to send on motion detection. The from/sender field seems to be built incorrectly. If I leave out the sender, my email ISP won't send it because security rules require a sender on all outbound email. If I include a sender, no matter what I put in, an error is generated. This is a sample:

[19:30] Mail: 501 5.5.2 MAIL FROM syntax error

If I include any white space in the subject, I get a different error:

[18:50] Mail: Illegal whitespace in address

I can work around the latter but not the former.

Can anyone reproduce this?
Thanks
JR

All it wanted was for me to have to ask somebody, then I found a workaround. If the "From" is an email address it works! "Your Couch" does not work. "Couch" does not work. ",?from=couch" does not work. "couch@yourhouse.com" works,
