Cannot connect to internet

Post by draymund »

Tried Forwarding ports and enabling UPNP also copied javaw.exe from \WINTT\system32 to \Windows\system32 - no help. Is there something else I should try? Keep getting the following in Console:

[12:00] Yawcam started
[12:00] Settings loaded
[12:00] Language: English
[12:00] Http-output started
[12:00] Stream-output started
[12:00] UPNP: Found device NETGEAR, Inc. Residential Gateway Residential Gateway
[12:00] UPNP: Error

Can you see exactly wich type of modem / router / gateway you have ?
I searched Google for "NETGEAR" "Residential Gateway" and had to many hits.

Did you changed the settings in Yawcam ?
Yawcam -> Settings -> Connection

Use UPNP... - With this checkbox marked Yawcam tries to forward ports in your router automatically. It will only work if your router has UPNP support and UPNP is enabled in your router settings. This is the recommended way to let webcam traffic pass your router and access Yawcam if your router supports UPNP. If you don't use a router or if your router doesn't support UPNP it is recommended to uncheck this checkbox.

Router model

Post by draymund »

Thanks for your response to Cannot Connect.

The router is Netgear WGR614 v6
Internet access is ATT Yahoo DSL "HS Express"
Camera driver is My DSL with a Click camera

Checked/changed Settings when changing from manual port forwarding to UPNP.

Notice some responses suggest changing URL endings to something other than 8888 and 8081. Will that work?

Appreciate any assistance.

Thanks for your response to Cannot Connect.
Get ERROR when checking "Am I Connected"

The router is Netgear WGR614 v6
Internet access is ATT Yahoo DSL "HS Express" OS Windows 2000 Pro
Camera driver is Dual-Mode DSC(2770) with a Click My DSL camera
Might this driver interfere with YAWCam?

Checked/changed Settings when changing from manual port forwarding to UPNP.

Does Yawcam function local ?
I don't think changing the ports will change something here.
Rather check if port 8888 and 8081 are on the exception list (allow access to internet via those ports) and see if the Java application (javaw.exe) can access internet too -> Firewall settings to adapt.

upnp error

Post by BamPa »

Hi there. I am getting the exact same error. I have a Linksys WRT54G router. My Comodo firewall is configured to allow pass through but for troubleshooting purposes I have disabled the firewall. The "am I online test works just fine. But nothing on the internet. Anything else I can try?

Thanks!
