How To Flip Image (Vertical / Horizontal)?

Post by Codster314 »

Hello;

Is there a way to flip the image vertically or horizontally?

If not, this owuold be a great addition for my needs (perhaps a easy addition too?). Although I notice it hasn't been updated in a while.

I don't believe the Yawcam software on his own can rotate/flip the image you are viewing.

I almost have the flip-function ready.
But I don't have a fancy gui for the settings, and ran into some problems showing the preview window flipped.
I you want I can give you a beta version with the option to flip the image by creating a text file enableverflip.txt or enablehorflip.txt in yawcam's settings directory. (Much like the forcevideoformat.txt-hack.)

You find the new beta here:
Yawcam_BETA_2010-01-05.exe

You flip the image by creating a text file named enableflipver.txt or enablefliphor.txt and place the file in the .yawcam directory in the home folder.
In windows vista or windows 7 this could typically be:
C:\Users\username\.yawcam
and in windows 2000 or windows xp:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\.yawcam

where username is the name of the account you are using.

Forgot to say that you will have to create the text file before you start yawcam. If you change the file you will have to restart yawcam again.

Thanks.

I will see if it worked tomorrow. No lights on at the stable. ;-)
Will the preview for the motion part work? I need to set the motion detection area.

Thanks for this great software!

Edit: The motion preview works great. Thanks.

Yes, the preview in the motion detection will be flipped.
It's only the "ordinary" preview window and capture window that won't show the flipped image.

A new beta with better support for flipping the image has been released. Get it here:
http://www.yawcam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1312

No need for file hacks anymore, and it will now also flip the image in the preview window.
