Hi, I have two questions:
- How can I configure yawcam to only capture when there is a connection on the HTTP server? I need this on demand behavior so that most of the time the camera is free for other apps like skype to use.
- I want to view the camera on an iphone app that supports mjpeg stream. I understand that yawcam uses mjpeg for the streaming server. What url do I need to set up so that I access only the stream?
Thanks for your help. This software is very good, I have used it for a year with no problems.

On demand capture and mjpeg streaming
If i understand you correctly, you want to start Yawcam and continue to use the webcam in other applications like Skipe untill you access the stream of your Webcan.
You can not do this without the use of a thirth party software like Manycam or SplitCam (i don't advise Splitcam seen the nature of their advertisements lately).
Why not ?
You open Yawcam and select your source.
Once the source selected, Yawcam take exclusive use of it.
Meaning it's not available anymore in other applications.

Thanks tellmewhy for your prompt reply. I understand that the OS cannot multiplex the use of the camera between skype and yawcam and therefore there are virtual drivers like splitcam to do the job.
Still, I'm coming from a different angle, at may house let's say that skype is used 5% of the time and I may want to watch the room using yawcam 1% of the time. This means that 94% of the time there is no reason to spend any CPU cycles and power having the camera on.
Anyway, your answer also told me that yawcam will acquire the camera on start and never let it go.
Thanks

IPHONE 3G
I don't know if it's fit to your needs, but if you have an Iphone 3Gs, you can try this:http://www.squidoo.com/turn-on-computer ... le67463931cat101 wrote: ..., at may house let's say that skype is used 5% of the time and I may want to watch the room using yawcam 1% of the time. You will be able to turn on your computer remotelly...
Next, you can try this: http://www.mochasoft.dk/iphone_vnc.htm
You will be able to login to your computer and start/stop Yawcam , and, off course, shutdown your pc again.
See the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoXAJhz53BI
I haven't tried it myself, cause I don't have IPHONE 3G, but similar applications for pc work for me.
Try this beta version:

to be able to release the camera completely.
Use the the file hack with releasecamera.txt. More info here:
