two cameras on one home network

Post by lostwithoutaz »

I have an HP laptop that is streaming perfectly. I am attempting to add a camera that is connected to a desktop computer on my home network. The camera on the desktop computer displays the correct image on the monitor, but when I run the test to see if it is online it shows the camera view from the laptop.
I need to know what port settings to use on my linksys wireless router so I can stream "both" cameras. I had this set up but cannot remember how I did it. thanks

If you want both to be available to the internet, you will need to use 2 different ports. Some routers actually support redirecting ports so you don't need to modify your Yawcam config. If this is not the case, you will need to change the port Yawcam uses. I suggest simply incrementing by 1, so if you are using 8081 on your laptop, use 8082 on your other computer. Once this, is done, make sure your port forward on your router also points to the newly configured port and you should be all set.
