Can you be more precise?

Your laptop has Yawcam installed and running at home?
You are trying to connect from your workplace to your laptop at home?

Did you port forward the port on your router so that Yawcam is allowed?
If you have any hardware/software firewall, did you allow Yawcam through?
What URL are you trying to connect to from work?

Forwarding a port doesn't cost anything and you don't need any special software to do it either. You can refer to portforward.com which will guide you through the process without charging any money, but they will ask you to fill in some information in order to give you the best guide possible.

You will need to know:
1) The IP address of you r computer running Yawcam.
2) The port number you want to forward. (see below)
3) Model number for your router.

For port numbers, you can set them manually in Yawcam, default ports are 8081 for Stream and 8888 for HTTP.

In order to find the IP address for your computer, you can click Start -> then Run, or In Vista and 7, simply type "cmd" in the search box and press enter.
In the CMD window, type "ipconfig" and press Enter, you will be given information, find the section that is relevant, should be "Local Area Connection", in that section you will find "IP address".

For the model number of your router, look on your router itself it is usually easy to find.

Thank you very much. I have been trying the method you suggested but i still get error that my port is not open. I will keep trying. I have Sagem model of Livebox Wifi router; I also got my IP address yet i still cant get it to work. I guess its because i am still new to this system. You have been very helpful and patient with me.

This is an update on the method you advised. From settings and i checked if i was online i got the following messages:

checking http url: ERROR
checking stream url: OK

What do i have to do to get the http url ok? However, I tried accessing my webcam from another computer with another router and i can see my webcam.

What effect will the error from the http have?
Thank you so very much.
