Cannot get http to work on new router

Post by weathernut »

My router crashed the other day so I went out and bought a new one (same make and model # as the old one). Hooked it up, enabled UPNP and ever since then the http function does not connect to the WAN address. When I do the online check the HTTP says OK, but when I click on "What's my URL?" the LAN link works fine but I cannot connect using the WAN link. My firewall is off for these tests so that cannot be the problem. The Yawcam settings have not changed. I even tried not using UPNP (using port -forwarding and connecting manually) but to no avail. Am I missing something here?

Have somebody outside your network to test the link for you. Or try testing
it using a proxy.

The outside world can indeed get it to work. It seems for those behind the router (ie in the network) the router's assigned address has to be used instead. Funny, with the old router that wasn't the case!
Thanks for your help!
