I just installed Yawcam today, and it was easy to get started. But when I tried to use it on a computer that is not on my LAN, I got an error message about no IP, I assume IP address. Since I want to store the images as files, I have no need of the LAN.
Is there a workaround?
storing images as files
You don't need any workarounds. Yawcam should be working for the purpose
you want it either it has internet connection or not. To disable that IP message
you get, on yawcam's menu click "Settings/Edit Settings...", then click on the
"Connection" sub-menu & uncheck everything. That should make the error
message disappear (I guess, since I've never used yawcam offline).
To save images as files, in the settings click the sub-menu "Output" & then
"File". Then choose the directory for the images to be saved, their quality &
the interval between every shot.
