Check the URL printed at the bottom of the stream settings window.
If the URL contain an ip address that is reserved to local networks or similar, your current settings will not work over the Internet.

Please see the FAQ question: "Why doesn't the stream output work over the Internet?"

You will probably have to redirect a port on your router if you use one...

By the way, which version of Yawcam are you using? The latest version should print a red warning message in the stream settings window if the settings not will work over the Internet.

The version that i use is 0.2.3

i use this ip http://81.193.36.118:8081/local.html

Is any problem if i use the the same client to view that ip and to stream my video....(in my pc i do my streaming video, and try to see in opera browser) :(

I think that is all ok, how can i post a image so you can see if all is ok?

Do you use a router?
How are you connected to the Internet?

What does Yawcam say that the URL will be if you check at the bottom of the stream settings window (settings -> edit settings -> stream) ?

No, this shouldn't be a problem. It will only be a problem if you are using a router and have redirected ports.

Please check if you can see your self on http://localhost:8081/

There is no way to upload an image to this forum. The image already have to be located somewhere on the Internet to be able to add it here...

ou
http://169.254.18.65:8081/local.html
(portuguese language  )

As usual I'm a bit confused  ...but let's test one thing:

1) Uncheck "advanced" so that you don't force a public ip.
2) Now try the address http://localhost:8081/ in your browser.
3) Also try http://169.254.18.65:8081/ in your browser.

Can you see yourself on any of the two addresses?

Now, check in "advanced" again and fill in the ip 81.193.36.118 (only fill in the ip, no portnumber or specific html page) in the "force public ip" field.

1) Can you see yourself on http://localhost:8081/local.html ?
2) Can you see yourself on http://169.254.18.65:8081/local.html ?
3) Can anyone else (outside your network) see you on the address: http://81.193.36.118:8081/ ?
4) What does http://www.whatismyip.com tell you that your ip address is?

Do you have an ethernet cable connected directly from the ADSL modem to your computer?

if i connect as this ip: http://localhost:8081/ , i have the same problem with the applet...
but if i connect with: http://169.254.18.65:8081/ , i can see my image now (with no ip force on the streaming settings)

With my public ip forced:
if i connect with: http://localhost:8081/local.html , i continue with the same problem with the applet...
if i connect with: http://169.254.18.65:8081/local.html , i can see my image again
and last and not the least if i connect with: http://81.193.228.120:8081/ , i can SEE my image :D

my cable ethernet is directly connect to pc and to modem

is any problem if the http://localhost:8081/ , dosent work :?:

Nope, sorry for that... Apparently localhost never will work with the applet. My mistake.

But there still is something that strange... Have you tested if anyone else can see you on: http://81.193.228.120:8081/ ?

This address doesn't work for me right now... but I don't know if you have Yawcam running...

I really can't figure out how you are connected to the Internet. It looks like you are sitting behind a router... and maybe you are, but this router might be located at your Internet Service Provider.

Have you ever been able to run any services, like an ftp server for example, on your computer? Maybe it's impossible for you to get traffic redirected from the Internet directly to your computer?

It sure can... What rules have you added to your firewall?
You will have to open up for incomming TCP-traffic on port 8081 to get to work.

I'm not familiar with either window's firewall nor norton's... but my guess would be that Norton will have much more nice settings ;-)
