I am trying to get a couple 'cheap' wireless cameras working with YawCam. My USB cameras work flawlessly, I would really like to extend that to my wireless ones.
I can connect directly to the cameras using either IE <shudder> or Chrome. The display is via a Java interface. I tried just the URL http://192.168.1.100 and the http://192.168.1.100/jview.htm Result from both is 'Could not connect to the device'.
Do I need a 3rd party server in between the cameras and YawCam?
I am only interested in scheduled motion detection -> email. I do not require any real time streaming.
Thanks,
Ed

Re: TRENDnet Cameras
On my trendnet Camera, I had to remove the user password so the stream is available without authentication, then Yawcam connected with no problem.
The downside is anyone with the address can view the stream. They can't modify settings without the admin password though.

Re: TRENDnet Cameras
Back on the camera project.
Hard wired camera to the network
I did a factory reset and reconfigured the camera for my wireless network.
Changed Admin password
Removed user access control
Verified I could view the data stream with out a password (http://192.168.1.15/jview.htm)
Unplugged power and network cables
Powered up camera, verified wireless connectivity with browser
In Yacam: Settings, Change to, Ip camers, Could not connect to the device! (OK)
URL to Ip Camera http://192.168.1.15/jview.htm
Security is unchecked
Nothing
Configured security settings for the Admin account, still nothing.
This is rapidly becoming a point of honor kind of thing

Re: TRENDnet Cameras
For the URL in Yawcam, I use "http://X.X.X.X/video/mjpg.cgi".
Security is unchecked.
In the camera settings, I set User access control to disabled.
You can try the URL in your browser to see if it works, it may be different for your camera model.
