mafengwo.cn & ctrip.com

Post by rojobo »

As seen in the Console panel:
[12/4 06:00] UPNP: Port 8081/TCP mapped to 192.168.254.18
[12/4 06:31] GET: /out.jpg
[12/4 08:18] GET: /out.jpg
[12/4 08:39] GET: http://www.mafengwo.cn/index.html
[12/4 08:39] Error 404
[12/4 09:06] GET: http://www.ctrip.com/index.html
[12/4 09:06] Error 404
[12/4 10:58] Yawcam hidden

What/why are these in here?
Yeah returned a 404 but why is Yawcam even doing this?
But why is it GET: some Chinese website?
(think 'nuff of this country is sold out to them already)
version 0.5 just installed a couple of days ago.
I've got no 'calls' for these pages in the htm files in www folder
Also no other'hidden' files there either.
OFF SUBJECT:
OH boy, I really wish there were a linux version.
I love yawcam, but no longer the same with M$oft.

The Http-output logs all incoming requests in the console. (One can argue if this is a good decision or not...)
When Http- or Stream-output are enabled, Yawcam will start to act as a small web server on the Internet. As soon as you have a web server on the Internet it will be targeted by malicious bots and spiders trying to find vulnerable software running on the web server. It's the sad truth about Internet today. All web servers on the Internet face this problem and get traces of the spiders in the logs.

The logs you get shows that a bot/spider is trying to use Yawcam's web server as a proxy to access other sites. Since Yawcam won't handle proxy requests you will see an "Error 404" in the console, and Yawcam will ignore the request to the other site.

This is nothing to worry about and has to be considered as "normal" on the Internet today.
