YAWCAM - JavaScript versus JavaApplet

Post by tellmewhy »

You can chose between JavaScript and JavaApplet in the settings.
Category : Output
Subcategory : Stream

The official helppage shows only :
Stream type - You can choose to stream via JavaScript or a Java Applet.
What's the difference between the 2 options ?
When should one choose JavaApplet and when JavaScript ?

Java Applet and JavaScript has some different options and handles zooming and scaling differently.
Java Script is more lightweight for the viewing browser.

Try both and see what you prefer. I prefer JavaScript

(I will soon release a new beta version with a new stream type added. In the next version Yawcam will be able to stream in Windows Media format.)

Any word yet on the release of the new version with Windows Media format support? I'm eagerly waiting for this release because I'm looking for new webcam software to use with my site and YawCam is a very good candidate :).
