Hi malum, thank you for the beta release.

What is the reference image detection algorithm and how does it work?

For the auto level settings, can you explain each value's intention?

For the new Motion Detection window, can the preview window be resized smaller? It's almost taking up my full 1080p HD monitor.

For the max filter, what does it exactly do?

You will find the answer on most of your questions here:
http://www.yawcam.com/help/help_motion_set_new.php

The preview area in the motion detection window can not be resized as it is now.
I guess we will have to do something about that before the real release...
Right now it felt more important to get the beta out to get some feedback on the new functions :D

Even after reading the manual, the auto level settings is still quite confusing. The sensitivity bar is just adjusting itself way too much to the point where it's not even detecting motion when it is supposed to.

The one I am getting most confused is the goal padding.

I am looking for a solution where yawcam monitors motion correctly day and night. Currently, I have to manually adjust the sensitivity to 93% on day and 89% on night because of the added noise in the camera. The auto level adjusts the sensitivity way too much, even when there's no need to adjust it. How can I make this work?

What image size are you using?
Which detection algorithm are you using?
What is your detection interval?
How have you set up the auto level?

The goal padding is used so make the sensitivity more stable.
Without the padding the sensitivity would be adjusted up or down at every level update interval. That wouldn't be so good.
Now with the goal padding the sensitivity can stay at the same level for hours as long as the conditions are the same.

Take a look at this example:
The Auto level goal is set to 1.0%
The Goal padding is set to 0.5%
(So the padding area spans from 0.5% to 1.5%)
The Tolerance margin is set to 2.0%
Auto level example
Auto level example
md_set_auto_level_example.png (1.85 KiB) Viewed 162015 times
1) The current motion level is 0.3%
The level is lower than the padding area => Sensitivity will be increased.

2) The current motion level is 0.8%
The level is inside the padding area => Sensitivity remain unchanged.

3) The current motion level is 1.3%
The level is inside the padding area => Sensitivity remain unchanged.

4) The current motion level is 1.8%
The level is higher than the padding area => Sensitivity will be decreased.

5) The current motion level is 3.7%
The level is higher than the padding area => Sensitivity will be decreased.
The level is higher than goal + margin => Motion event will be triggered.

Have been using the beta for about a week now and the Motion Detection is snappy as anything, responding really fast. Very good. Max filter works fine too.

first of all, thank you about yawcam.

I have a problem in the beta.

in moving detection, the setting that is to send 5 photos at an interval of 3 seconds. It actually sends me one picture.

And one more about pictures, I do not know why, maybe the jpg format not correct, but since the IOS7 in iPhone, pictures coming to my mail, should click on any of the download manually. If it could be determined that you can send in PNG or something.

Thank you

I am also experiencing the problem with only 1-2 (occasionally 3-5) images being emailed also. Were you able to resolve this problem with the BETA version?
Thanks,
Brett
