Activated ftp-upload, but when using a directory name nothing happens. If I leave the field blank the upload works fine, only the files are stored in the wrong place (root folder)...

Try to add a slash before the folder name.
If the folder is named "upload" try to enter "/upload" in the folder name field.
I'm not sure this will help though... It's only a wild guess
Where do you have your ftp account? Is it possible for me to create an account there to test with?
