Hello!
I try to set up a Webcam behind a router. However it does not work ....
What puzzles me is that the "Am I online" check always returns OK. From this I expect that the port forwarding in the router is cofigured correctly ("Am I online" reports "error" when I change the port forwarding settings).
Any Idea whats going wrong?
It seems to me that its a problem on my PC running yawcam, but I have no idea what ....
Thanks
MarkusK
ps: access to the local adress (192.168.2.242:8888) works fine
pps: switching off the windows fire wall has no effect
Port Forwarding
Hi, I think the results you are getting are normal.
If the 'Am I online' test comes back with an OK then people will be able to see your camera. The reason you cannot see it is because the router does not allow you to view your own camera as it blocks the signal. You would be able to view it as a local IP address as you have already found.
To prove it, ensure your camera is online, then go to a friends house and type in the URL for your camera and you will probably see it okay.
I also run through a router and get exactly the same results as you.
