Wich OS do you run on your computer ?
If you have Windows Vista, did you try to run Yawcam in compatibility mode ?
  • Right-click on the Yawcam application icon on you desktop.
  • Select Properties.
  • Click the Compatibility tab.

    Image
  • Under Compatibility Mode, check the Run this in compatibility mode for checkbox and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) from the dropdown.
  • Check the option Execute this program as an administrator
  • Click OK.
  • Dubbel click the [Yawcam application icon to start the program.
  • You will be prompted by the "Windows Vista UAC".

No, sorry
Just asking if by any chance Yawcam is already started as a service during the start up of your computer and therefore prohibit a second startup.

I dont shut my machine down - the service is set to manual start.

I read somewhere that there may be port sharing conflicts and/or conflicts with other video cam software.

what do you make of this servicewrapper log - I just reinstalled everything from scratch, tried to start the service and got another 1067 error.

I tried to recreate the conditions you have.
I failed.
Each time i have a clear message on the screen from Yawcam or Windows telling me something is wrong.
Are you sure that :
  • You don't have a message of some kind on the screen ?
  • Yawcam isn't started, but minimzed in the system tray ?
By the way i installed not "Java Wrapper Service" but "Java Runtime Environment".
I don't know if this has something to do with it.

Solved *sort of*

I installled on a freshly built machine and OS and works fine. I am going to suggest the problems were with other software I was testing, plus all the garbage in the bundle. I read somewhere there may be a clash with other video detection software and that is what I think is going on here.

Thanks for all your help, it is appreciated.

If I do end up pinpointing it I will post for KB.

I have this same problem. YAWCAM had been running fine for a month or two, and now there is nothing after the banner pop up.

I have a few questions for you :
  • Have you read the whole thread ?
  • Are all components needed installed and running on your computer ?
  • Did you try a fully uninstall and reinistall of the application ?
  • Is there anything in the logbooks (Windows and / or Yawcam) that indicates an error or a missing component ?
  • Wich OS do you running now ?
(Not all OS are compatible for this application)
  • Have you upgraded your OS recently (new service pack, new operating system) ?
