Make movie problem

Am have a problem when making time lapse movie.

The process starts just fine but the bar stalls about half way across and then just sits there.

The file where I have saved the movie shows the quicktime logo, but nothing is there.

Any suggestions ????

How many images are you trying to combine into a movie & how big are they ? Maybe try something very simple - e.g. just 10 images of small file size and run movie at 1 fps to test it out. If it still freezes try reinstalling Yawcam

What is the location where you save the movie ?

Please download this file:
debug_start.bat

Save it in you Yawcam directory. (Typically C:\Program Files\Yawcam)
Now start Yawcam by using debug_start.bat and try to make the movie again. Yawcam will now create a log file with some debug information. The file will be called: debug_log.txt

Please send this file to me.

Oh, I forgot... It's possible that you run into some permission problem if you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7.
To overcome this you will need to start a command prompt as an administrator, and then run debug_start.bat from this command prompt.

You start a command prompt as an administrator like this:
Click on windows start button.
In the search field, type: cmd
Right click on cmd in the result list and choose "Run as administrator"

Thanks to all-

I tried to use fewer pictures (I used 15) and the function completed.

However-when I went to the folder to open movie the big blue Q was not there-it appeaed to be a tiny Q, Clicked on it, no response.

Tested Qtime player-works fine.
Tried to convert Mov (with small Q to AVI--got a "currupted or invalid file messege"

Tested Qtime player with another MOV file-works fine.

It appears YAWCAM in producing a bad .MOV file, and it not able yo produce any other format such as AVI.

Any suggestions???

Yes, the image to movie function in Yawcam will only produce quicktime .mov-files. It will not create .avi-files.

Which version of the quicktime player are you using?

Please follow the instructions in my previous post and send the debug file by email to me.

Using ver 7.6.5----will do as you suggested--

Right clicked

Clicked on run as administrater

Get a black screen that looks like a Dos screen

Do I need to do anything else???

Yes, now you are going to use the "dos-window" to start Yawcam.

If you installed Yawcam into:
C:\Program Files\Yawcam

then type:
cd C:\Program Files\Yawcam

and hit enter.

now type:
debug_start.bat

and hit enter.

Yawcam should start.
