Access denied when storing image in motion detection

Postby maxx » Sun Feb 07, 2010 2:30 am

Hy there,

when I use motion detection, any attempt to store an image results in a message in the console: Access denied.

The folder where it tries to store the images gets created, but it seems not to be able to store an image in those folders. The folder (where the other folders and images go) is not write protected and I run Yawcam as aministrator.

I run Windows 7 / 64 bit.

Thanks for any help

Please try this beta version:
http://www.yawcam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1321

and see if that makes any difference.

Unfortunately, it did not solve the problem. Got the same behavior, it can succesfully create the folders but there is no content.

Any other things I could try ?

Thanks for the reply,

Could you please download the alternative start file for yawcam that creates a log file with debug information. Then run Yawcam until the problem occurs and then send the debug information to me?

More info on the debug_start.bat here:

A bit more information on how to use the command prompt here:

Thanks for the debug information.
The problem is that Yawcam doesn't handle the situation very well when the file ending is not entered in the file path.

Instead of using the path:
D:\webCamCapture\yawcamMD\bird_{tstamp}
please use:
D:\webCamCapture\yawcamMD\bird_{tstamp}.jpg

That will solve the problem for now...
