Yawcam and stream or http connection from an android device

Post by Galaxyweb »

Hi, I write for the first time.
I have a problem:
I installed yawcam on my computer and it is working very well.
I can connect to my usb cam without problem with my android device and the browser (in stream mode and password port 8081 and with http mode port 8888).
Now I installed some android cam software to see directly the image of the webcam (as ipcam software or tinycam) but I can't see the image.
For example Tinycam is connected to webcam (status is ok with the value of fps) but I don't see the image. Same problem with ipcam.
Where is the problem?

Viewing images in Android Phone

Post by kvrajan »

Hi.

Me too have the same problem when I tried to use TinyCam. Now viewing with the browser which does the job, anyway.

Let me also know, if Tinycam can be made to work by receiving streaming inputs from YawCam.

I tried to use other software installed on my computer with the same functionality as yawcam. With this tiny cam software works prefect. I think the problem is the video stream

Yawcam don't has MJPEG as output format. This is why android apps like TinyCam and IPCam can't connect directly to the stream.

I have tested with the app "IP Cam Viewer Lite".
You will have to enter the url to the actual MJPEG stream into the app.

If the url to the stream page is: http://192.168.0.200:8081/
then the url you should use in the app is: http://192.168.0.200:8081/video.mjpg

You also have to select MJPEG as the output type in the settings:
"Settings -> Edit settings... -> Stream -> Stream type"

Yes
I tested with ipcam lite
I setting with stream type and selected mjpeg

I try with internet ip (by dyndns) :8081 but no image
Now I try with internet ip:8081/video.mjpeg but same error

I use the secure setting with user and password

FROM pc browser if I edit ip:8081/video.mjpg

401 The requested stream needs a username and a password

Now I try:

1. delete user and password for stream
2. setting ipcam lite with parameter : ip:8081/video.mjpg
3. Try connection

I see on my computer the message of yawcam "a viewer connected......"

but on android phone the message is the same: "failed to retrieve image from camera"

GOOD
SUCCESSFULLY RETRIEVED IMAGE FROM CAMERA

I try with many cameras from list... and retrieved data with "security labs SLD264" camera type

Now I try with user and psw

Nothing when I use user and password for security it don't work : "failed to......"

There is no support for password protection with direct access to the mjpeg stream in the current version. However, you should be able to view the stream if you disable password protection.

What happens if you disable password protection and try to access the stream directly at ip:8081/video.mjpg via your pc's browser?
You disable password proctection here:
"Settings -> Edit settings... -> Password -> Use password on stream output"

Ok
the problem is the password.

No, I try to see if working from pc browser.......

Now working OK but without user and password in security settings......

Thank you for support......
I hope you support the security setting in the next beta release.
Thank you
