I am a new user using version 0.3.5 in windows XP.
I tried the motion detection with action sending e-mail.
I set up with:
my gmail adress (to and from)
smtp.gmail.com
ssl
port 465 (I also tried 587)
my username and password at gmail.
Yawcam says I am online when I use the "Help"-"Am I online".
The motion detection is enabled and I get images saved on my pc when motion is detected but unfortunately I do not manage to send any mail.
I searched in the forum and I think I used the right settings in yawcam.
Do I have to change anything in my router or firewall to send email?
Problems sending e-mail on motion detection.

I'm not sure if this has an effect on it or not, but on the username field, did you type (username@gmail.com) or just (username)?
Yiou may want to try it, I had problems before, but I dont remember if that's what had fixed it.

That technique won’t work because router and the firewall do not interfere in outgoing data from your PC. Firewall only filter the connection of your PC to the internet so that means it isn’t the problem why you can’t send Email. I think there is something in the OS of the Yawcam that is why you can send E-mail.
