Webcam only accessible if Yawcam site is running

Postby Meteosat » Wed Jun 06, 2012 4:56 pm

Hi I'm on BT INFINITY and the router is a Homehub3.

When the Yawcam web site went down I lost both the ability to see if I was online (via loopback) AND the ability to see the webcam output at a remote place via the Internet.

When the Yawcam site came back up, both facilities returned.

Does this mean the program is somehow inextricably linked to the actual Yawcam web site - so that HTTP and STREAM options HAVE to pass through the site?

Cheers

No, the only link between the software and the site is the check for your IP address (if enabled) and when you check for port forwarding errors and such.

Which makes it very weird then!! Anyone have any thoughts as to why it works fine when the Yawcam site is OK but not otherwise - specifically on BT with a HH3?

Many thanks
