Instance 2 disappears

Hello, I have been using Yawcam for a little over a month with one usb cam and it has worked great. I decided to try and add a second usb camera and followed the instruction here on the forum. I am running Windows XP on the system. I have each instance of yawcam in its own folder, yawcam and yawcam2. I have modified the files like suggested here on the forum. If I run each of them by themselves each is operating normally, the settings save correctly, the cameras operate properly. I can see each online. But if I try to start one with the other already running, no matter what the order, it goes through the motions in the white intro screen of detecting, loading and such and then is disappears. I have check the task manager and it doesn’t show it to be running. The first instance will continue to operating normally unless I shut it down. After that I have to restart the computer to get either instance to start, until I restart the system neither instance will even show the white intro box. I originally started with 0.3.7 but upgraded today before work to the 0.3.8 to see if it would make a difference but there was no change. Since I haven’t found any other problem like this listed in the forum I’m sure it is something I have over looked or a wrong setting but I have went over both instances many times over the last week and I am baffled.
