I want to try and set up high quality snap shots like on Ben Quinn’s site. One of his images using the same camera I have is at http://webcams.bsch.au.com/archive.html ... 134500.jpg
We both use the Logitech Webcam Pro 9000. His photos like above are automatically generated by the camera as a webcam. However, my images on the time laps using the Yawcam software do not seem to be as clear even though the image kilobyte size is larger at 257k . The above image of Ben’s is only 84k yet it looks clearer than mine at http://advantagein.com/image2012-06-17_17.23.55b.jpg
Perhaps he has software that enables still shots to be captured and Yawcam may not. With the Yawcam software I see live video of what I point my camera at. My images were captured using the time laps function that I enabled by going into “settings” then “edit settings” and then “file” and adjusting image quality to 100% and going through the wizard. In “settings”, I also selected “device” and then “format control” and selected "800 x 600" for the image I saved. I tried different frame rates but it did not make a noticeable difference. In “settings” I also changed “stream” to 800 x 600 and used 100% image quality. I also tried lower sizes than "800 x 600" but image quality was reduced. Larger sizes produced very large size images in kilobytes but they still did not appear to be as good as Ben’s image. Perhaps Yawcam has a setting to enable capturing still shots and not video and this may be clearer. Could that be so? If you find a setting for this, please let me know. Is it possible to get images as clear as Ben’s using Yawcam software and if so, what settings should I enable?
I did not install the software on the CD that came with the camera. I found it just worked with Yawcam.
Your help would be appreciated
