I am trying to use my one email account, which I know uses port 587 for the SMTP Outgoing server. At one point, I think I tried 465 instead. I have the port 587 now configured, and also passed this exception in my Windows XP Firewall and my router's port forwarding. (I am not using UPNP). Whenever I try to detect motion and send an email, it says in the console, "Mail: Could not connect to SMTP host: smtp.embarqmail.com, port: 465".
I tried another email account (GMail) and it works fine. Why does it keep saying it could not connect to port: 465 when I have keyed in port: 587?
