Would it be possible to add the EXIF properties tag (306 /0x132) Original Date to JPG images created by the motion detector? That way, the file could be renames or copied without losing the date and time that the image was captured.

I'm sure this would be possible, I don't know how long it would take to code that though so I can't say if Malun would be willing to do it unless it's a very simple task. I'll add it to the list so but can't tell you if it's gonna be accepted or not.

I'll add the suggestion to the todo-list but I'm afraid it will get a rather low priority.

There is no native way of writing exif data in java, so to add this I will have to do a lot of coding. There are some external libraries I can make use of instead, but some of them has quite poor performance. So I'm afraid adding exif data could have a bad performance impact.

In other words, this would take some time of investigating and testing...
