FTP Error: 200 S OK
FTP Error: 200 S OK
I am using a logitech webcam to upload images using yawcam.exe software. I get the following error message: FTP Error: 200 S OK
Is there any way of know what this error means? I tried using Active and passive ftp but both fail and produce the same error.

The new version has a lot of changes in the ftp function, so there is a possibility that something has gone wrong...
I'm interested in to what kind of ftp server you are sending the images. Where do you have the ftp account?
I understand if you don't want to share this information in the public forum. I'll send you an email...

After some investigation I found out that wunderground.com use a
special script that moves the image file directly after it has been
uploaded to the ftp. This doesn't work well if you upload with a
temporary filename and then rename it to the right name.
This is what Yawcam does to make the image visible for as long as
possible. (The image is not complete and not visible during upload
time. That is why Yawcam uploads a temporary file and then renames it
because renaming is fast.)
In the info you supplied you can find this info:
http://wiki.wunderground.com/index.php/WunderCams_FTP
"Some software packages upload a tmp file and then try to rename that
file as the image name. This is not working with our current ingest
daemon. Please check the settings of your software to see if this
feature can be disabled, allowing a direct FTP of the image. Some
software packages also try to upload HTML content with an image. This
will stop your image from being successfully ingested. Please upload a
single image only. "
Anyway to overcome this problem I have added an option to skip the
temporary filename and upload with the final filename directly.
Download this beta version:
http://www.yawcam.com/beta/Yawcam_BETA_2011-01-03.exe
Open the settings:
"Settings -> Edit settings... -> Ftp -> Advanced ftp settings..."
Uncheck the option "Upload temporary filename and rename."
This should do the trick to get it working with wunderground.com

ftp upload to wundergound
Hi,
I'm having the same problem uploading to wunderground.
I've downloaded and installed the beta version you linked above.
Yet I'm getting the errors as shown in the screenshot here:
edit by malun:
User/Password are correct, I've tried uploading manually with an ftp client without problems. So the problem must be somewhere in the settings or with yawcam?!
Can you help?
Thanks,
Andre

Re: ftp upload to wundergound
I too am still having the same problem, just have not had a chance to post the update. I even tried the URL method and have received numerous emails from the staff at underground but they are not receiving anything. I too tried a third party FTP upload so I know my username and password are correct. What I find interesting is that I don't always get the FTP message in e console so I think ai have this working but it isn't. Thanks in advance for further suggestions.Rohtang wrote:Hi,

Strange. Yawcam works fine with the account I created at wunderground. Perhaps I can understand better what goes wrong if you send me some more debug information...
Start Yawcam with the debug start file. Typically located here:
C:\Program Files\Yawcam\debug_start.bat
(The system will probably ask for permission to read from Windows registry. This is to be able to locate the path to your desktop.)
Run Yawcam as usual and reproduce the error.
Exit Yawcam.
You will now have a file named yawcam_debug_log.txt on your desktop.
Please send this file in an email to me.

Just for information:
Wunderground don't follow the ftp protocol correctly for some of their servers. That is why Rohtang got the problem. I have now added a fall back for the bad ftp response wunderground sometimes gives.
Rohtang has confirmed that it works with the new beta version:

I am still having problems with the upload to wunderground's ftp site. I tried setting up another user account to see if it is something on their end. The only thing I could see is that there is no setting to confirm the ftp is being send as "binary". iS there such a setting in the ftp interface. Otherwise, all other features appear to be operating as expected. It's just the ftp to wundergound.com does not seem to work properly. I will send a seperate debug.txtmalun wrote:Just for information:
