jre-directory ??? !

Postby Alex_CH » Fri Jan 28, 2005 8:58 pm

:shock: ooooh, Malun....

did you really need to put the whole "jre" directory with all its content to the beta-packages?

every new beta -> 19Mb !

If users not use flatrate they are (maybe) disappointed about this filesize.

If there no need (and I think so), please remove it from beta-versions.
Other users how installed the official version allready have this directory with its contents...

My thought was that it is easier for first time useres who want to use the beta if the beta also includes the JRE.
But first time users perhaps don't use the beta right away anyway... so this might have been a stupid thought.

But you are right in that the JRE is not needed. It is the same as in Yawcam 0.2.4. So the zip file could be made a lot smaller.

Any more suggestions on what I should do?

Ok, I have now added a smaller update as well. So now a user can choose which one to download.

A comment though: The update shall be unzipped into the yawcam directory (see update instructions on the link above), but the full version can be unzipped whereever you like.
