FTP Error: 500 REST not understood

Post by steph06 »

Hi,
i contact you as i got a message error when i try to use the FTP.
I got following message : FTP Error: 500 REST not understood
I've tried lots of different parameters configuration but no ones were correct.
When i tried to connect through Filezilla (or using DOS FTP command) toward my FTP site, it's working so that i'm quite confident on my FTP access.
File, HTTP, streaming, E*mail capabilities are working very well.
Can you provide me some tips to help me to recover the situation for the FTP option.

Thank you in advance

Best regards

That's not a login error, that's a message saying that your FTP server doesn't
support the REST command. That command is for setting a point from which
the transfer will resume in case of interruption. AFAIK the solution is to ask
the server's admin to enable it (or to enable it yourself if it's your server).
I don't know if disabling the option "silent retry on connection error" in yawcam
can help. You can try though, it's in "Settings>Edit Settings>Ftp".

Thank you for your advise,
I've tried again without the option of Silent but still the same results.
I will try to contact the FTP admin and will see.
Is the REST command mandatory for the YAWCAM FTP functionality if nothing can be made from FTP server ?

Best regards
