Can not install Yawcam 3.0.7

Post by Frank E. »

I can not reinstall Yawcam 3.0.7 with Windows XP sp3.
PS On all my other PC's with Windows 7 I can install Yawcam and working fine with Yawcam..

Installing conform:
Setup Yawcam >> launching Yawcam >> the logo of Yawcam appears, but nothing happend futher ?
Only in the logo of Yawcam at the left corner, something is circling around by " reading settings" and don't stop. ?
You can only stop it with Ctr-Alt -Del ?

So there is no '' Loading Device '' and no '' Loading Gui , as usual.

BTW, I have Java jre6 and Java Services installed, both are working well.

But installing is till now impossible.
Who can help me? Or who has had the same problem?

Maybe you should try upgrading to jre7?

OK memoric, I will try it with Java SE 7. (So not the developers one or kit.)
And let you know.

BTW, I have also tested and controlled the version 6 updated 30.
And everything was fine.

So I have installed 7 SE, but the problem is the same.

BTW. With Ctr-Alt-Del I see mostly javaw.exe, but sometimes it changed into java.exe
Both are services of java, but what is the difference?

AFAIK their difference is that javaw doesn't have an associated console.
As to your problem, I'm afraid that I have nothing for now. :(

Thanks,
You told me: '' AFAIK their difference is that javaw doesn't have an associated console''.
What is AFAIK?

For me it is crazy that Yawcam is not installing under Windows XP, but fine installing is under Windows 7 ?
And I suppose it's working well by all other users with Windows XP, because I got no reply on this topic

So I have today controlled again all my services of Windows XP. By stopping and starting.
Hereby every time with a new herinstall of Yawcam. But without any result.

(AFAIK=As Far As I Know)
I don't get it either why it doesn't start for you. I have both XP & 7 too & it's
working great on both of them. Some time ago I had 3 instances of yawcam
running at the same time on the XP machine with no problem! But it's SP2,
so it must be either that or something is wrong with your Java installation?

OK
-1 I will uninstall and install Java again. First Java 6 and then Java 7.

-2 About Windows SP and looking in the history of Windows XP. Indeed I am missing MS NET Frameworks 1.1 SP1.1
But I can not install it with Automatic Update ?
Maybe the folder C:\windows\softwaredistribution is corrupt.

PS I must tell you that I have SP3 installed. ( Not SP4, see above).

-3 An other thing is that on this PC is also installed Webcam32.
Maybe they bite each other? Ofcourse I did not started Webcam32, but maybe the services of this program is stil running?

Between I have installed (no 1). So Java and Yawcam

And I have renewed the Service Packes, so MS NET Frameworks 1.1 SP1.1 is working. BTW A hell of a job. ( no2 )

But I have still the same problem.

Hello Memoric.

I have resembled the debug_log.txt file of Windows XP and Windows 7.
Look in my 2e topic.

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: com.jeans.trayicon.WindowsTrayIcon.sendWindowsMessage(Ljava/lang/String;I)I
at com.jeans.trayicon.WindowsTrayIcon.sendWindowsMessage(Native Method)
at yawcam.Main.<init>(Main.java:347)
at yawcam.Main.main(Main.java:2341)

I don't know exactly what those ERROR's mean, but it has to do something with the language.
BTW Java and Windows XP is on my PC in Dutch.
But maybe you can explain the error codes 347 and 2341 ?

Can you, or other members, show me your debug_log.txt file with Windows XP ?

I don't think your problem has to do with Dutch. It's more possible it has something
to do with the tray icon. Can't create it maybe? I have found nothing about the error
messages you get. :( Maybe someone expert on Java can help more...
