Settings aren't saved

Postby kijoshua » Thu Feb 09, 2012 3:44 pm

Version 0.3.7, Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1.

I am the administrator. I've tried running the exe as an administrator manually just to check. I've tried setting the compatibility options to run as administrator. And as XP SP3. I've modified the permissions on the Yawcam program files folder such that "Everybody" have full permissions. I've tried making a C:\Users\Josh\.yawcam folder manually. Created a yawcam_settings.xml file in that folder manually. Briefly tried running it as a service, and saw the .yawcam folder populated with files at least... Changed the permissions on the .yawcam folder (and all subitems) to allow "Everybody" full control.

None of it worked.

So I have 2 questions:
  1. What exactly do I need to do to have the settings properly saved?
  2. Why is this bug still around after all these years? Vista and Win7 may be different from XP, but it certainly isn't impossible for programs to save their settings. IMO the inability to save settings for the past 2 versions of Windows is a huge limitation.
