FTP Error 350

Postby GreyOwl » Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:21 pm

Upgraded to version 3.8 yesterday and now I keep getting the above error then a line that says "Restarting at 0" Next line reads "FTP Error: 200 Port command successful", then it keeps repeating over and over.
If I restart Yawcam it will not find my router until I power cycle the router with Yawcam stopped. After restarting Yawcam it works for about 10 minutes then starts all over again.
Any ideas on what to do next?

Seemed to begin when I upgraded from 3.7 to 3.8. I use this for a weather webcam. In the last week I'll see a short string of posted photos but then no update for hours. I've posted the question to Weather Underground too. Fishing for an answer...

Exactly the same use for mine. Have done all sorts of changes in the FTP section but nothing helps. I reset the router and it works fine for a while until I quit checking on it, then the next time I check it has started all over again with the error messages. If I can find a link to go back to 3.7 I will do that, but for now I have shut off the FTP part. HTTP and Streaming still work fine by the way with no problems there.

Are you both uploading to weather underground?
The ftp servers at WU are sometimes a bit shaky.

I've released a beta version of Yawcam that handles this better. Give this beta version a try:
http://www.yawcam.com/beta/yawcam_BETA_2012-06-17.exe

Also, weather underground needs some special settings...

Ftp settings that works with wunderground:
In "Settings -> Edit settings... -> Ftp":
Uncheck "Stay connected."
Check "Silent retry on connection error."
Check "Silent retry on authentication error."

In "Settings -> Edit settings... -> Ftp -> Advanced ftp settings..."
Uncheck "Upload temorary filename and rename."

Wunderground has a file size limit on 150K, so make sure that the images is smaller than that.

More info from WU at: http://wiki.wunderground.com/index.php/WunderCams_FTP

Yes I am uploading to Wunderground. Those are the settings I have been using for the past 2 years, and everything had been working great until the 3.8 upgrade. I just downloaded the BETA and will give it a try for a few days to see if it works. Right now so far, so good.
Thanks

Thought I would post an update to this after giving the BETA a while to work. After upgrading to the BETA version of Yawcam, things went well for one day then started getting TIMEOUT ERROR's several times an hour with only one connection every 2-3 hours. I decided to just let it go for a while and after the last round of XP updates, everything seems to be running smoothly again with no errors at all. Who knows what was the underlying problem, but alls well at the moment.
