Is there anyway to turn off the Webcam capture sound? it plays constantly and randomly in the background when I run yawcam

I assume you mean when your doing motion detection?
If so, Under Window, check the "motion detection" box and a subwindow will open. Click on the "Actions" tab and near the bottom of the right hand side is a check box for "Play Sound", un check it and you should have silence.

As Country_Bubba mentioned, you can disable it in from playing on motion detection by unchecking the checkbox beside "Play sound" in the Motion Detection menu.

Alternatively, you can browse to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Yawcam\sound\" and delete the .wav files.
