SEtting Yawcam to a static IP

Hello!

We have developer our software to work with other programs, but requires them to be able to be set to a static IP.

Currently, if the IP address changes on Yawcam, our customers have to contact us with the new IP in which we have to update in their database, and give the system an entire retart in order for the two to talk to each other again.

Is there a setting within Yawcam that we can set the program to a specific/satic IP address, instead of it changing every time the computer is rebooted?

We normally set our DHCP from .100-.200 so that we can statically set other items from 1-99.

The easiest way is if the Yawcam user gets a DNS-updater.
When the ip changes, they will still have consistent name that can be used to access the camera.

Follow the dynamic ip guide:
http://www.yawcam.com/help/noipguide.php

It's a bit outdated in some parts, but you should be able to follow the instructions and get it working anyway...

I'm not even sure what you are asking here. Yawcam will use whichever address is currently set, whether it's static or dynamic.

You have to set the computer's IP address statically, or reserve the IP address in your DHCP server so that it keeps the same address, but this is not something that can or ever will be configured by Yawcam as this is a computer setting that affects the entire computer.
