This post only concerns beta versions older than 2007-01-18
For some people the beta version can't detect the webcamera. A solution for this problem is to download and install java JMF 2.1.1e.
Follow these steps:
1) Download JMF 2.1.1e for windows
from Sun:
http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/jmf/2.1.1/download.html
or from here:
http://www.yawcam.com/files/jmf-2_1_1e-windows-i586.exe
2) Install the software.
3) Delete Yawcam's settings file. (The file is named yawcam_settings.xml and is located in your yawcam directory, e.g. c:\program files\yawcam\yawcam_settings.xml)
4) Start Yawcam. (It will most likely still not detect your webcam)
5) Run the camera detection from Yawcam's menu. (Settings -> Detect webcam... )
Hopefully Yawcam now detects your webcam.

Well, after installing the JMF YawCam now does detect the camera (right away, did not have to tell it to detect).
But, I still cannot get it to work with the applet being in my website page but getting the applet and stream from my PC. (See other topic which I had posted) but does work if the page comes from the PC |
