Re: Multiple copies of YawCam need Multiple copies of Java?
7 GB of memory for a single instance of Yawcam sounds really much... What java distribution are you using? What image size are you using for the device? It is important to note that the memory usage will depend on the image size. In my tests a single instance for a camera with full HD (1920x1080) re...

Re: Stream only on localhost unless firewall disabled
Since Yawcam is a Java program, you will need to allow Java's executable in the firewall. The file will be named "javaw.exe" and is typically located here (if you are using Oracle's java distribution): C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath I you are using a different jav...

Re: Motion Events
The easiest way is to browse the files in the file explorer. The preview image from a motion event is located here: C:\Users\%username%\.yawcam\motion And the images and and videos from the action events depend on your action settings. More info about them here: https://www.yawcam.com/help/help_moti...

Re: ACCESS_VIOLATION crash when starting YawCam
Nice! We have pinpointed the problem :D ...and I can reproduce it on my machine. You might want to try this beta version: https://www.yawcam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13193 It should be more stable regarding the device selection when you plugin and unplug devices from your computer. Hopefully that w...

Re: ACCESS_VIOLATION crash when starting YawCam
On my machine, Yawcam will start fine with booth Elgato Camera Hub and OBS Studio installed. I can connect the Elgato Virtual Camera, but when I try to connect to the OBS Virtual Camera, Yawcam will crash. In theory, it could be that Yawcam has selected the OBS Virtual Camera and tries to connect to...

Re: ACCESS_VIOLATION crash when starting YawCam
Some hardware can make Yawcam crash like this when Yawcam looks for devices at startup. Make sure to use updated drivers for your webcam. This also applies to any TV tuner card if you have one of those. What is the webcam you are you using? Next step would be to disconnect all webcams and see if Yaw...

Re: Using Yawcam on https
Nice birdcam! As you have noticed the problem is the mix of HTTPS and HTTP. Modern browsers will not allow this. If you check the browser's console, you see a warning typically looking like this: "Blocked loading mixed active content [URL]" There is no easy fix for this right now. A possib...

Re: Can't run install file: "Windows protected your PC"
Compare MD5 checksum To make sure that the downloaded file is the correct Yawcam installation file, you can compare the file's checksum with the checksum published on Yawcam's download page. 1) Open a command prompt 2) Run the following command on the file: "certutil -hashfile yawcam_install.e...

Can't run install file: "Windows protected your PC"
When you try to run Yawcam's installation file, you might get an error message that says "Windows protected your PC". You can still install Yawcam if this happens by following these steps: 1) Click on " More info ": 2) Check that the app is indeed the Yawcam installation file. Th...

Re: where is console log file and folder?
The log files are located here: C:\Users\%username%\.yawcam\logs if you enable " Save log file " in the Startup settings: save-log-file.png These log files will contain the same output as the console in Yawcam. However, if you experiencing an issue with Yawcam, you might need to look at th...

Re: Outside URLs not working
Some routers won't let you access the external address when you are making the request from inside the local network.
Check if it works from a phone using 4G/5G (and not your local WiFi).
Ask a friend to connect and see if it works from them to see your camera.
