It doesn't sound like a bad idea, I could use it myself too. But it looks like it's out
of yawcam's purpose, so I don't think we'll see it any time soon. I agree that it'd
be a plus though.

You can set yawcam to upload images to a server through FTP every time it detects motion.
As for your other question, you can set yawcam to notify you through a balloon message &
a sound when somebody connects to your stream. AFAIK that can't be bypassed.

I don't know if you should disable "use UPNP" in yawcam's settings if you are using "Virtual Server". Give it a try though. Also, at "Virtual Server", did you forward the public port 8081 to the correct LAN client? That's 192.168.2.20 in your case. But check if you &quo...

The assumption, if for internal address like 127.0.0.1:8081 is OK, means the port is ok... ...But either using the IP address as per "no-ip.org" or wrote the ip directly to browser (like 114.79.xxx.xxx), NONE is success.. That's why I suggested to have someone else to check it for you. As...

You mean that you can't see the stream, or that the stream doesn't activate at all
(the button stays red at yawcam's main window)?
(Also, why are you pinging yourself? For some delay before starting Chrome?)

Have someone else from a different IP to test http://114.79.xxx.xxx:8081,
someone outside your LAN.

I don't think your problem has to do with Dutch. It's more possible it has something
to do with the tray icon. Can't create it maybe? I have found nothing about the error
messages you get. :( Maybe someone expert on Java can help more...

I forgot to mention that I did that "trick" with a USB hub, not with direct connection.
I can't really say if that has anything to do with getting that to work, so I don't
want to mislead you into buying a hub, but if you have one available give it a try.
Also, my system was Win XP.

I see. Did you define the working directory at psexec? That's the -w switch. So, if yawcam is installed in "C:\Programs\Yawcam", you must give the following command: psexec \\yourcomputer -w "C:\Programs\Yawcam" "C:\Programs\Yawcam\Yawcam.exe" I tested it on Win7 & ...

FTP=File Transfer Protocol. Yawcam uses FTP to transfer captured images to a server. So, if for example you have set it for Motion Detection, when motion is detected yawcam will upload X images to your server (you can define X through settings). Thus, if you are away from your computer, you can visi...
