This might be easy to implement: how about adding the day of the week to file-naming options in Motion Detection->Save to File? A variable like {dateW} which would translate to "Mon", "Tue", "Wed", etc. In a sequence of file names it's easier for me to grasp when a picture was taken by the day of the week rather than the date (which often requires some mental arithmetic).

I agree with you, this would be a nice to have feature for some and I believe it would be fairly easy to implement.
