Secret of Yamcam

Dear Guys,
I wish you guys could help me. I am trying to access a vnc server through my tv, just like i access my yawcam through it. Yawcam is a java software, just like the tight vnc, for exemple, and i can access my yawcam eventhough i do not use a browser that supports java. What is the secret? To access a vnc server, I or We must use a browser that supports java. I do not understand, why this is not possible for vnc servers? Why to access vnc server we must use a browser that supports java?
