Motion detection: how to prevent lights interfering?

Post by motionuser » Wed Oct 10, 2018 3:19 pm

How do I make it alert only on actual motion but not when lights are being turned on/off? There must be away to configure it to detect actual motion only instead of a single change in the image which is not motion but lights going on or off. I've been experimenting but no luck so far.

I've tried many configuration "tweeks" and I still get emails/txts sent even when there is no motion at all, including in the middle of the night, pitch black. I've had to turn on "flood control" , set at 600 seconds (10 minutes) in the email settings so I don't get so many emails/txts. Maybe the developer can advise on the best settings for motion detection alerts.
