Beta fails to start after reboot

Post by nh_handyman »

I had to un-install and then re-install the latest beta after a windows update reboot.

Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this with the beta?

What would happen is it would hang when trying to start up (a process with about 30K of memory would startup and lock the xml file). I only know that because I had to manually kill them before being able to re-install.

Also, for the re-install, after running the un-install, I physically moved the left over 'yawcam' directory from the default "program files" directory.

I'm guessing its not cleaning up correctly when windows sends it a shutdown event (assuming of course Windows has such a thing)

Do you mean yawcam_settings.xml?

What happens if you manually restart the computer when Yawcam is running? Do you still get the lockup?

I'm gonna do some tests and see if I can find something...

I am experiencing the exact same problem. But I discovered that it was NOT nessesary to uninstall and reinstall Yawcam...... ONLY delete (or rename) the yawcam_settings.xml SO I guess this bug might be easier to track and fix? ...I hope :D
