Why is there a dependency on Java 6? Are you in fact using some of the programming features and/or APIs specific to Java 6? There are many more people using Java 5 or Java 2 (Java 1.4.x) than Java 6.

Yes, in fact I actually am...
I could however skip the java 6 specific api to let Yawcam be at least java 5 compatible. But I don't want anybody to run Yawcam on java 5. The main reason for this is the performance improvements made in the image I/O for java 6. Some info here:

Since I have decided to require java 6, I can use the new API without any bad conscience.
